Procedure Performed by Dr. Sabbagh

The Procedure

A long strip of skin and fat is excised in the inner arm. The scar is visible and will be hidden only when the arm is against the body. The incision can extend down to and around the elbow to reduce wrinkles and excessive skin. This scar may be visible.

5-stars-rating-ping Dear Dr. Sabbagh, I want to thank you for taking such good care of me and making my experience at Straith Clinic so great. It’s only been a little over a week since my surgery, but I’m very pleased with the results. You and all your staff have been a pleasure. Please also extend my thanks to Brenda and Helen in the O.R. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Straith Clinic to anyone contemplating surgery. Thanks Again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do arm lift scars fade?

Arm lift scars do fade with time, but will never completely go away.

Does insurance pay for arm lift?

No, an arm lift is considered a cosmetic surgery and insurance does not pay for it.

How long does it take for Brachioplasty scars to heal?

Brachioplasty scars will soften and fade in the first several months after surgery. However, a scar typically takes a full year to mature.

Do compression garments help with loose skin?

Compression garments do not tighten loose skin by themselves. Compression garments are often used after surgery to help limit the amount of swelling that occurs and to help the swelling improve faster.

Can underarm fat be removed?

Underarm fat can be removed with liposuction. If there is loose skin as well, a skin excision procedure such as a brachioplasty (arm lift) may be needed.

Does arm lift leave a scar?

Yes, an arm lift leaves a scar that typically travels from the armpit toward the elbow. The scar is usually positioned so that it is toward the back of your arm and partially hidden by your body when your arms are at your sides.
