Straith Clinic Medi-Spa: Chemical Peels

Go Back

If you are searching for a way to improve the overall appearance of your skin and regain a youthful glow, then a chemical peel is a great option to achieve that look. At Straith Clinic, aesthetician performs chemical peels in a safe and comfortable environment.

What Is A Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are a mixture of mild acids that are applied to your face. The peel causes the outer layers of skin to gently lift away, removing the damaged areas and dead skin cells. While it may sound like an intensive treatment, the process is safe with only slight discomfort.

What Is the Procedure for A Chemical Peel?

Our aesthetician performs chemical peels in our medspa.  She will gently cleanse your skin before applying the peel solution so that it can better penetrate the outer layers of the skin.  The peel itself produces very little discomfort and requires no topical anesthetics.  The whole process is designed to be a very pleasant, pampering experience.  The entire process takes about 30 minutes.

How to Care for Your Skin After A Chemical Peel

Once the treatment has been completed, most patients will experience something like a sunburn. Your skin will scale and flake as it heals over the next week. Deeper peels will cause more peeling.   The skin may be slightly red for a week or so. We will provide you with complete instructions for care after the procedure.  Avoiding the sun while the skin is red is very important.  Afterward, sunblock should be applied to maintain the beautiful results. Occasionally you may experience mild burning after the peel which can be managed with over the counter medications.

Am I A Candidate for This Procedure?

If you want to remove the effects of too much sun such as uneven pigmentation, fine wrinkles, and dark spots, then a chemical peel could be the treatment for you. The process works to smooth the uneven pigment and fine wrinkles on your face and reveal beautiful new skin underneath.
