The Procedure

During the bra-line back lift procedure, a horizontal incision will be made across the back where women can conceal it under their bra or bathing suit. Excess skin will be removed, and a small cannula will be used to break up and suction out the excess fat cells. The remaining skin will be carefully pulled up and stitched into place to tighten and eliminate unwanted folds and wrinkling and create a more toned appearance.

Moderate swelling, bruising, and soreness along the incision line are common for the first 1-2 weeks after bra-line back lift surgery. Swelling improves greatly after 1 month, but will not completely resolve for approximately 3-6 months. Patients will be instructed on compression garment use to help with swelling. Strenuous activity should also be avoided for several weeks but most patients can return to non-physically strenuous work and light activities within 1-2 weeks.
